James Odom: Randolph County Judicial Write-In Candidate
Written by David E. Smith
Voters in Randolph County have the opportunity to write-in a great Christian conservative candidate for judge of the Circuit Court in the 24th Judicial Circuit. His name is James Odom. His wife of 20 years and their four children have lived in Sparta for 14 years, and have been very active in their local church.
Unfortunately, no Republican candidate filed to run for this spot which means there is a very real chance that the Democratic candidate, Jeremy R. Walker, will win the seat. Yet if Christian pro-life voters take this write-in campaign seriously, this important Randolph County judicial seat could be saved.
As the policies and agenda of the Democrat Party become increasingly absurd, the choice between parties becomes clearer, and each election it becomes more significantly important to vote to retire Illinois Democrats at every opportunity. The voting record and agenda of Illinois Democrats can only be described as far left on the political spectrum. We could justifiably call them extreme. But the deceptive media in Illinois will never identify them honestly because they are collaborators in creating a socialist culture.
That is why it is vitally important that conservative pro-life voters take the extra step of writing in JAMES ODOM for the Twenty-Fourth Judicial Circuit on their ballot. This is a big reason why Illinois Family Action has endorsed Mr. Odom’s campaign. We know him, his values and integrity, his family, and his legal philosophy and believe that he would make a great Circuit Court Judge. Consider this quote from him:
“To uphold and defend the Constitution of Illinois and the United States as a judge requires understanding that the source of law is not precedent (that is, the decisions of man), but rather, the source is Our Creator. However, as the culture tells us every day, the entire contemporary legal system says precedent is everything. This misunderstanding results in the courts frequently, if not usually, failing to uphold the rights of the People. This misunderstanding is why judges in America could uphold duly passed, but immoral, laws supporting slavery, and judges in Germany could uphold duly passed, but immoral, laws supporting the genocide of the Jews.”
His appeal is straight forward:
“In order to judge rightly, one must understand that the origin of rights and law are the Creator, and not judges. Sadly, in today’s legal environment this understanding is rare. Especially now, it is imperative to elect judges who understand this. That is why I’m running as a write-in candidate. Please help me in this task by going to the polls on November 8th and writing James Odom on the write-in line for Randolph County 24th Circuit Judge, and don’t forget to darken the oval!”
Please make every effort to cast your ballot on or before November 8th to ensure that the best candidates are elected in this election cycle. Early voting is already underway. Registered voters can cast a ballot at the township office as well as at the Randolph County Clerk’s Office. If you have questions, call (618) 826-5000.
Please also note: At the top of your ballot you will find a question about the Amendment 1 to the Illinois Constitution. We urge you to vote NO to this question. It will inevitably lead to an increase of our property taxes. You can read more about our concerns HERE, HERE and HERE and this tax calculator from the Illinois Policy Institute HERE.
We also highly recommend voting for every one of the Republican candidates running for statewide offices, including our endorsed favorites:
Governor/Lt. Governor: Darren Bailey & Stephanie Trussell
U.S. Senate: Kathy Salvi U.S. House Dist. 12: Mike Bost
Illinois Attorney General: Thomas DeVore
