Dr. Bill Hauter Earns IFA’s Endorsement!
IFA Staff Reports
The IFA Board was impressed by Dr. Bill Hauter, who spoke with passion and conviction on issues ranging from life, to medical freedom, to school choice. He doesn’t shy away from making his faith in Jesus Christ known.
From his web site:
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7
A Stronger Conservative Voice for Our District
I’m running for the Republican nomination to the 87th District of the Illinois State House. I am a professional cardiac anesthesiologist, and elected Tazewell County Board Member. I am a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Illinois State Rifle Association, and the Illinois State Medical Society. My wife and I will have been married for 30 years this year, and we have a strong passion for adoption and Pro-Life ministries. I am a follower of Christ, and I seek to honor him in all that I do.
Having served as president of his private medical group, as the current Vice President of the Illinois Society of Anesthesiologists as well as a current elected member of the Tazewell County Board, Dr. Hauter is a proven leader in his practice, hospital, specialty and community.
As the state’s only full time Christian pro-life/pro-family organization, Illinois Family Action is proud to endorse the following candidates running for office:
Dr. Hauter’s Background
Bill and his wife Shelley are the parents of 5 children and are active in adoption and prolife ministries. Shelley is the director of Living Alternatives Pregnancy Resource Center – a Tazewell County women’s pregnancy center supporting women with difficult pregnancy decisions.
Dr. Hauter says: “I have taken care of innumerable COVID patients in the last two years and I understand COVID is real and serious, but I will stand against these divisive and counterproductive vaccination mandates and passports.” Dr. Hauter says he will be a strong conservative voice for the district with his top priorities being pension reform, improving the terrible crime bill passed last year and growing the vibrant biomedical economy of Central Illinois.
Having a conservative doctor in the legislature with medical expertise in emergency medicine and anesthesiology will fill a critical void when it comes to sponsoring and advocating bills in the areas of when life begins, biological differences in men and women, and the dangerous impacts of drugs on our communities.
As a local elected official, Dr. Hauter has demonstrated a conservative fiscal and pro-taxpayer stance, and the ability to represent constituents well at the grassroots.
Illinois State Representative Keith Sommer (R-Morton) offered this testimony about Dr. and Mrs. Hauter:
“As adoptive parents, Dr. Bill Hauter and his wife, Shelley, have also been advocates for adoption law changes in Illinois that have taken unnecessary bureaucratic meddling out of the international adoption process. As a result, adoptions are now easier and less expensive thanks to the Hauters and another Peoria area adoptive couple, Kris and Gregg McClelland. They stood up and made a difference for children needing a loving home and family.”
We found Dr. Hauter a far better choice than establishment candidate Mary Burress, whose largest financial backer is House Republican Leader Jim Durkin, a RINO who backs Richard Irvin for Governor. Irvin is a liberal who has voted in 7 of the last 8 Democrat primaries and lies about what he’s done as mayor. Durkin is tainted by a $20,000 donation to Reditus Labs, now bankrupt, whose CEO is under indictment and a pay-to-play scheme swirls around Durkin, and fellow Illinois House members Rep. Mark Luft and Rep. Ryan Spain.
