SPOTLIGHT: The Politics of Racial Grievance

Written by Benjamin Smith

This week on Spotlight, the Rev. Dr. Eric Wallace returns to join Monte Larrick and David Smith for an important conversation on a destructive divide in our society and in the Church. As the co-founder and president of Freedom’s Journal Institute for the Study of Faith and Public Policy, Dr. Wallace reveals two exciting projects that are in the works with FJI: Racism in America and the Role of the Church and Repent Chicago.

Despite liberals’ claims, progressive politics has not resulted in progress for blacks in Chicago, Illinois, or America – in fact, it has served to perpetuate racism and stifle efforts for racial reconciliation. Dr. Wallace discusses the politics of racial grievance and makes a distinction between biblical justice versus social justice. Our guest and hosts also consider the biblical view on racism; the intersection and impact of faith on public policy, and the role and responsibility of the Church to lead the way in confronting racism and facilitating racial reconciliation.

Please listen to learn how Freedom’s Journal Institute is committed “to advance the kingdom of God through political education and engagement rooted in a biblical worldview.”
