‘Religious Beliefs Have To Be Changed’ to Accommodate Abortion
Written by Joel Gehrke
Hillary Clinton believes that “religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed” in order to expand access to abortion.
Clinton said yesterday that it’s not enough to legalize the procedure. “Far too many women are denied access to reproductive health care and safe childbirth, and laws don’t count for much if they’re not enforced,” she said Thursday, per the Daily Caller. “And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.”
The expected Democratic presidential nominee didn’t say how she would favor changing those beliefs. Her comments come as congressional Republicans are expected to revive an effort to pass a bill banning abortions after the 20th week of a pregnancy.
“The babies and mothers being targeted by the late-term abortion industry have waited long enough for protection,” a group of pro-life activists led by Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List, said Wednesday.
