While this past weekend saw an 18% decline in movie box office receipts from last year and drew the least income among the top 12 grossing films since 2008, one movie is doing better than most people ever predicted. Dinesh D’Souza’s 2016: Obama’s America, the conservative feature film has earned over $26 million in the US, making it the second highest-grossing political documentary of all-time.

While it would have been appropriate, there was no reference to rebellion against King George proclaimed last Monday outside the Will County Courthouse when 39 county officials and candidates signed the “Will County Declaration of Independence from Cook County-style politics.”

When asked about the removal of “God” from the Democratic Platform, Illinois’ U.S. Senator Dick Durbin responded, “…to suggest that this document and the insertion of two words here and one word there, now defines politics in America suggests to me that you’re not focusing on the real issues that Americans care about.”

Monday morning, WGN radio host Mike McConnell interviewed IFI’s Laurie Higgins about the fallacious “hate” designations given to conservative Christian groups like IFI, Family Research Council (FRC) & American Family Association (AFA) by the extreme leftist Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).
