The Hidden Crisis of Surrogacy and Child Trafficking with Katy Faust
Written by Alyssa Sonnenburg
In this special edition of Illinois Family Spotlight, IFI’s Dave Smith and Alyssa Sonnenburg sit down with Katy Faust to discuss her newly launched child-advocacy campaign, “Greater Than.”
Katy Faust is founder of Them Before Us, a foundation with one goal in mind: to protect the right of a child to their mother and father.
In her new “Greater Than” campaign, organizations, including Illinois Family Institute, are joining the movement to overturn the devastating Obergefell decision, a landmark Supreme Court decision which guaranteed the “right” of two men or two women to enter into a legal “marriage.”
As Katy Faust will point out in this interview, when marriage between one man and one woman became optional, parenthood law was re-written overnight. Now, children could be raised with two “moms,” or two “dads”– thereby being deprived of their right to their mother or their father.
“A child’s own married mother and father are statistically the most connected to, invested in, and protective of them.
When the both biological parents are raising the child in a married home that is permanent and low conflict, that is the best vector for child thriving that we have ever found as a human species.”
This episode will cover the shocking and devastating repercussions of a society that has put the rights of children on the back-burner to adult desires including: human trafficking, instability, abuse, neglect, and the era of “designer babies.”
This is a conversation you do not want to miss.
