SPOTLIGHT: Assisted Suicide Targets People With Disabilities
Written by Alyssa Sonnenburg
Did you know that legalizing physician-assisted suicide in Illinois would target people with disabilities?
In this Spotlight episode, Monte Larrick sits down with Riley Spreadbury to discuss this very topic.
Riley Spreadbury is a leader in the disability community and works with the Disability Resource Center in Joliet, Illinois. She is outspoken in her opposition against physician-assisted suicide and even testified before the Illinois State Senate committee.
“My concerns are that of course not every disabled person is terminally ill, but every terminally ill person, in my opinion, is disabled.
So this is inherently a disability issue.”
This is a vitally important conversation you do not want to miss.
