SPOTLIGHT: Homeschoolers Summit!
Written by Alyssa Sonnenburg
In this special episode of Spotlight, Pastor Ceasar LeFlore sits down with Latasha Fields to discuss education and the exciting upcoming event, Chicago Home Educators’ Summit.
Latasha Fields has been a home educator for over 18 years and her passion for parental rights and quality education is evident. She is a former candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Illinois, is a critic of the public school system, and has even testified before the U.S. Congress on “Poverty in America: Economic Realities of Struggling Families.” In addition to this, her opinion piece, “God, Parents, and the ‘1619 Project’” has appeared in The Wall Street Journal.
Because of her passion for education, Latasha founded the organization, CHESS (Christian Home Educators Support System), a homeschool co-op, support group and micro-school, and EPIC (Empowering Parents Igniting Communities), a parental rights organization.
“My heartbeat is kids… God has really placed that measure… on my life to just have this passion… to really see kids seriously get a Christian education.”
This is a fantastic episode you do not want to miss.
