To My Anti-Trump Friends

Written by Rev. Thorin Anderson

It appears that many people are voting for Kamala Harris as a reaction against Donald Trump. Is that you? Some people don’t care for politics and pay little attention to the issues until the election is upon them. Maybe you are one of them.

You simply follow the lead of your friends. You trust them. Whoever they support you support, or you trust whatever media voices you have tuned in to.

But have you considered how well those you trust have researched the candidates? Have they analyzed the arguments as well as they should have?

Whichever side you are on, half the nation appears to disagree with you. That should give you pause. Is it possible that you are wrong?

I hope that you are reasonable enough to entertain some questions. It should only take a few minutes.

Are you a thinker, or do you just “go with the flow” of your friends? Do you consider yourself a thinking person, willing to hear all sides, or are you just a little stubborn, like most of us? Have you made your decision based upon what you KNOW to be true, or based upon what you have HEARD to be true?

In other words, just as rumors are often wrong, and just as statements are not made true by the number of people who say them, it may be possible that what you think about Trump could be inaccurate.

Yes, Mr. Trump gets a little peculiar, and even crude, at times and says things we could wish he hadn’t; and it is not surprising that some dismiss him out of hand. I did, at first! When he first appeared as a Republican candidate in 2015, I figured I would never vote for him. But I did a little investigating on my own before the first primaries.

I learned that his public persona was quite different from his private and professional lives. A friend of mine who knew Trump personally informed me regarding Trump and led me to take a little closer look. He said that in his experience, language aside, Trump has incredible integrity. Whatever he said he would do, he would do.

It led me to rethink my position on Mr. Trump.

So:

First, what is your knowledge about Trump based upon?  Consider this:

The people who knowingly lied about Joe Biden’s well-being for years, telling us he was “at the top of his game” and “ran circles around his staff,” are now telling us that Kamala Harris is well suited and capable to take his place. Maybe, or maybe not.

And consider these other claims made by the same Trump critics who also knew, even as they said them, that they were lies:

  1. “There is abundant evidence that Trump and his campaign were colluding with Moscow.” This charge collapsed for lack of evidence.
  2. “The Hunter Biden Laptop issue was propaganda created by Moscow.” (This said while the FBI had the laptop in their possession).
  3. “Trump’s presidency was a disaster.” (You can check this out yourself: Gas was about $2 dollars a gallon.  Interest rates around 2-3%.  Unemployment under 4% for minorities and women.  Inflation at about 2%, etc.  Home ownership, even among minorities, was at record highs).
  4. “The southern border is secure.” The border was relatively secure under Trump, but the numbers of illegal border crossings under Biden and Harris is beyond counting. Estimates range from nine million to twenty million people crossing our southern border illegally over the last four years.
  5. “Trump is an existential threat to democracy!” And just what is the evidence they provide for this, other than their word?  He was in the White House for four years, and if evidence existed, I can assure you they would be posting it everywhere.  But they do not because it does not exist!  All there is is their words-nothing more!
  6. “Trump is divisive.” Explain how and when?  The reality is that his accusers are the dividers:
    1. They work to turn minorities against Whites, who they accuse of being inherently racist, supremacists, exploiters, fascists, and much more.
    2. They turn young Whites against older Whites.
    3. They turn young people against their parents.
    4. They turn Native Americans against European descendants.
    5. They pit women against men.
    6. They pit women against babies.
    7. They turn none-Christians against Christians.
    8. They turn young people against traditional values and education.
    9. They pit employees against employers.
    10. They pit liberals against conservatives
    11. They call conservatives “deplorables” and other demeaning names.
    12. And so on. . . .
  7. “Trump is a fascist and will use the power of the government to go after his enemies.” This said by people who ran for office promising to put Trump in jail and have levied dozens of state and federal charges against him!

And what about the person they have elevated to take Joe Biden’s place as the Democrat nominee?  Kamala Harris, two weeks before the election, still claims that Biden is perfectly competent to be the president. So, why is she in his place?

Sounds like a betrayal of the worst sort! This indicates what kind of person she is: the kind that will allow ambition to drive her to betray a person she claims to love and respect dearly! This past weekend, when asked why she was the nominee instead of Biden, if he was still fit, she ducked the question saying they would have to ask Biden himself!  Huh?

She received no primary votes for president. She stated the border is secure even as millions of people, including many thousands of criminals, entered the country illegally.

She can’t be trusted at all.

Power attracts people, and the vice-presidency is among the most powerful positions in the world! What kind of person is she to cause over ninety percent of her staff to resign in her first year?

Kamala’s parents were and are adherents to atheistic Marxism. Evidence is that she accepts the same. Many of her stated positions over the years align with it. Her apparent attachment to Marxism/communism is probably her greatest problem.

Maybe Donald Trump is crude, but, if my choice is between crude and communism, I will choose crude.
