SPOTLIGHT: Shawn Carney, Abortion, Prayer and the Unplanned Movie

Monte Larrick recently spoke with 40 Days for Life president, Shawn Carney. In their Spotlight conversation, they discuss the latest strategy of the pro-abortion movement (specifically in Illinois, Virginia, and New York) to enact radical abortion laws which are actually infanticide laws. Shawn points out that the insane demand for abortion at any stage of gestation – even as the baby is emerging from the birth canal – truly provides the pro-life community with an increased opportunity to win hearts and minds at the grassroots level.

After the break, Monte and Shawn talk about the upcoming, largest ever, 40 Days for Life spring campaign of peaceful prayer outside of abortion facilities which begins on March 6^th. As the podcast concludes, the conversation focuses on a powerful pro-life movie, Unplanned, which opens in 800 theaters nationwide on March 29^th. The movie tells the story of Abby Johnson, a Planned Parenthood clinic directory, who becomes a pro-life activist after witnessing a live abortion. Opening weekend attendance will be crucial to the box office success of this movie and will also boost the possibility for expansion to even more theaters. IFI Worldview Conference 

On Saturday, March 16, 2019, the Illinois Family Institute will be hosting our annual Worldview Conference. This coming year, we will focus on the “transgender” revolution.
