Salacious Scandal Leads to Scramble for New GOP Nominee

Due to an unexpected resignation in the 51^st Legislative District, which was held by State Representative Nick Sauer (R-Libertyville), Republican Lake County Chairman Mark Shaw will need to appoint a replacement.

Sauer resigned from the Illinois House after a bombshell revelation involving pornographic photos of his ex-girlfriend. Multiple sources report that Sauer created a fake Instagram account on which he posted these photos in order to lure men into graphic sexual conversations with him. He may now may face criminal charges.

This House District includes the townships of Barrington, Cuba, Ela, Fremont, Libertyville, Vernon and Warren. The villages include Barrington, Barrington Hills, Buffalo Grove, Deer Park, Grayslake, Green Oaks, Gurnee, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, Lake Barrington, Lake Zurich, Libertyville, Long Grove, Mettawa, Mundelein, North Barrington, Tower Lakes, Vernon Hills and Wauconda.

The 51^st District encompasses a small portion of Cook County, Lake County Chairman Mark Shaw will meet with the Barrington Township Chairman to discuss and name a replacement. Since Shaw holds the majority of the weighted vote, he will decide the replacement.

To date, best estimates are that over a dozen people are interested in filling the vacant seat. First-term Rep. Sauer had a strong pro-life and pro-family voting record while in office. We need to ensure that the replacement shares the same values and will vote accordingly.

Mark Shaw is not only the Lake County Chairman, but he is also the Co-Chair of the Republican Party in Illinois. His job is to see that Republicans are elected. As of this writing, Sauer has not withdrawn from the ballot. It is believed that Chairman Shaw would like to make the appointment to fill the term and place the same candidate on the ballot. According to the Illinois State Board of Elections, this slot must be filled by August 23rd.

Immediate prayers are needed for Chairman Shaw to select the best candidate to fill the opening–a candidate who will be a strong conservative. The 51^st District is primarily a Republican District. That said, there is an extremist Democrat and a pro-abortion Independent running for this seat in the November General Election.

Urge him to send a principled conservative who will not buckle to the pressures of the Springfield swamp.
