The first thing the communists did after the 1917 Russian Revolution was round up anyone who disagreed with them.

They shut down newspapers and denied all public forums to dissenters. This included their “useful idiot” socialist allies.

We think it can’t happen here, but some recent moves to stifle free speech and enforce official viewpoints should give us pause.

Last Tuesday, the satellite TV provider DirecTV kicked the fast-growing conservative cable news network Newsmax off its network.… Continue Reading

Written by Molly Carman

Soon after his release from Walter Reed Military Hospital where he received treatment for the coronavirus, President Donald Trump prioritized communicating the importance of pro-life legislation. Yesterday, President Trump posted a series of tweets concerning his pro-life convictions by reiterating his stance on the abortion issue and drawing attention to Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s position.

Trump’s first tweet drew attention to comments made by Joe Biden during a town hall meeting last night in Miami, Florida.… Continue Reading

Recent abortion legislation have had no effect on the energy of setbacks for the Illinois life movement, in fact it seems to have had quite the opposite effect. Despite unfavorable weather, over nine thousand people marched for life on January 11 essentially saying we as a pro-life movement might be down, but we are not out. This edition of spotlight features the various speeches from the rally.… Continue Reading

In advance of the upcoming March for Life Chicago, Monte Larrick interviewed Eric Scheidler to talk about the big March, but looming in the background is the recent passage of a big anti-life law in Illinois, which prompts some to ask: why should we rally and march for life?

After that, they discuss activating more people for the pro-life movement, what the Pro-Life Action League does for the unborn, a potential legislative reversal of the parental notice of abortion in Illinois, how constituents could lobby their pro-abortion lawmakers against it, sex trafficking and parental notice, and is abortion coming to the public schools?… Continue Reading

If the latest policies advanced by prominent Democrats are any indication, the national party is going over a cliff: outrageous and extreme abortion legislation (enacted or proposed) in New York, Virginia and Rhode Island; the “Green New Deal”; U.S. Senator Cory Booker‘s meatless society; U.S. Senators Kamala Harris‘ and Kirsten Gillibrand‘s determination to do away with private insurance.

The current slate of Democratic policy proposals are shocking in a number of ways, but one thing that stands out is the staggering ignorance of the proponents.… Continue Reading

If you’ve been paying attention to the rhetoric coming from elected Democrats and progressive activists in recent weeks, you’ve probably noticed a calculated effort to frame issues in the vein of morality.

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declared to reporters that building a border wall would be an “immorality.” Abortion activist Amelia Bonow told children in a viral video that aborting her baby was “part of God’s plan.” Even social media superstar Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — who apparently works part-time as a Member of Congress — clumsily invoked morality to excuse her aversion to the truth, telling Anderson Cooper that it’s more important to be “morally right” than factually accurate.… Continue Reading

As the final weeks of the GOP-controlled Congress draw to a close, pro-life voters look on with great disappointment at the Republican politicians who failed to follow through on their most crucial promise: to defund Planned Parenthood. In about a month, Democrats will take over the U.S. House of Representatives and any hope of stripping the abortion giant of federal funding will pass away.

The 2018 March for Life, the world’s largest pro-life event, will be held [today] — Friday, January 19, in Washington, DC.

Every year since 1973 when the U.S. Supreme Court made its infamous decision in Roe v. Wade, pro-life activists have gathered in our nation’s capitol to mark the anniversary in a somber, peaceful demonstration. Over 20,000 attended the first March for Life in 1974 and now the number of participants reaches over 400,000.… Continue Reading

Is there a constitutional principle so sacrosanct that it can abide no exceptions? Perhaps the First Amendment? Nope. Courts have placed reasonable restrictions on free speech and the practice of religion. You can’t libel someone, nor can you sacrifice live animals. The Second Amendment? No again, as any number of gun laws attest. One can find reasonable exceptions to just about every constitutional principle.

But 43 years ago, trawling through the penumbra and emanations of the Constitution, Justice Harry Blackmun found an inviolable right that had somehow evaded the Founding Fathers: the right to kill a child in utero—mere inches from being fully born, even—for any reason or no reason.
