Since the first buses arrived in Chicago from southern-border states in late August, both Illinois Governor J.B. The crisis of the southern border is a major issue in the 2022 elections.  With the high profile programs of Republican governors of Texas, Arizona and Florida to bus asylum seekers to sanctuary cities like Washington, D.C., New York City, Chicago, and Martha’s Vineyard, not a day goes by when another bus with migrants arrive at a sanctuary city from one of the governors.

As Chicago braces for another weekend of wanton gunfire, mayhem, and murder, the city has announced that headshrinkers will answer 911 calls for “mental health emergencies.”

In other words, the Sun-Times reported, if someone calls 911 because his neighbor crows “I’m cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs” in the wee, small hours every morning, a burly cop with a stun gun and a Glock 9mm might not be the right medicine.… Continue Reading

Here’s a smattering of the lyrics.

A Wall Street Journal piece by James Carville was headlined, “Democrats Are the Anticrime Party.” Seriously?

The other, by The Washington Post’s Dana Milbank, said, “The GOP’s fixation on race is on full display.” Seriously?

On Monday morning we were greeted with more alarming news from the City of Chicago: 100 people arrested and 13 Chicago Police Officers injured after groups of rioters unleashed chaos, smashed windows, and looted stores. They targeted Chicago’s Magnificent Mile shopping district and other parts of the city’s downtown. Last week as the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) reportedly conducted the biggest one-day sweep in U.S. history, picking up 680 illegal workers in Mississippi, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has reiterated that her city will not enforce immigration laws.

At a press conference, Lightfoot charged ICE with “terrorizing” and “traumatizing” immigrants, and defiantly stated that the city had “taken measures over the past few weeks to ensure the Chicago Police Department will not cooperate with ICE.” … Continue Reading

The Illinois Republican County Chairmen’s Association prompted an outcry from Muslims when it posted a faux movie poster image labeling four Democratic congresswomen as “The Jihad Squad” on its Facebook page.

The post showed the four congresswomen with a tagline that read, “Political jihad is their game. If you don’t agree with their socialist ideology, you’re racist.” U.S. Reps. Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts and Ilhaam Omar of Minnesota are shown holding guns.… Continue Reading

There was a record-sized field of candidates containing as many women as men. Their surnames ranged from the long familiar to the novel and exotic; they had multiple racial and ethnic backgrounds, and at least one gay candidate was in the running.
