The Democratic Party is having an identity crisis. To win elections, it must pose as moderately liberal. It is anything but.

The rise of Muslim/socialist Zohran Mamdani as the Democratic nominee for mayor of America’s largest city shows how far left the party has plunged.

New York City voters may yet reject Mr. Mamdani, but he is favored right now to win in November. That would saddle the Big Apple with a functionally Islamic/communist regime.… Continue Reading

The Democrats’ “free stuff army” has stopped growing, just in time. Maybe.

At some point, if tax eaters outnumber taxpayers, the whole thing will come crashing down.

That is the actual Cloward-Piven Strategy concocted by Marxist academics Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven back in 1966. Their hope was that a socialist government would pick up the pieces and destroy capitalism.

Anyway, the border is now secure under President Donald Trump after four years of President Joe Biden’s policies allowing an estimated 6 million to 10 million migrants to enter the United States illegally and get on the dole.… Continue Reading

The IHSA (Illinois High School Association) has doubled down on its dedication to allow biological males to compete in girls’ sports.

Not only is IHSA’s decision a violation of President Trump’s February 5 Executive Order, “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports,” but it is also a clear indication of one thing:

The IHSA will gladly sacrifice the privacy and safety of your daughters on the altar of radical gender ideology.

As Election Day approaches, the far Left, politicians and some of the most radical groups in America continue their attacks on the U.S. Supreme Court and our judicial system.

U.S. House Democrats recently announced a new “Court Reform Now” task force that will work to advance legislation that would supposedly fix “political activism” at the U.S. Supreme Court.

The representatives say the U.S. Supreme Court has usurped “legislative and executive authority with activist decisions that disregard established precedent in order to achieve political results.”… Continue Reading

Recent news is filled with the debate over Roe v Wade and the abortion agenda. There is no doubt that the upcoming mid-term elections will be profoundly affected by the dispute. Conservative Christians must show their support for life now and at the ballot box. U.S. Congresswoman Mary Miller (R-Oakland) has shown her support for life and is now fighting the evil industry of abortion and the leftist that supports it.

We were very impressed with the energy, conservative values, and the leadership Travis Weaver, running for Illinois State Representative in District 93, showed at our interview session. His record of accomplishment and community involvement, at just 29 years old, gives us great encouragement for the future.

As the state’s only full time Christian pro-life/pro-family organization, Illinois Family Action is proud to endorse the following candidates running for office:

Travis Weaver makes his positions very clear, both spoken, and in writing to his potential constituents.… Continue Reading

Supposedly, Albert Einstein gave this definition for insanity – doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Whether Einstein actually said this or someone else conceived it, it is a profound definition.

Does this definition apply to all situations? What is the context that needs to be considered? Are we as Christian conservatives in Illinois guilty of insanity?

I am going to answer this question in two ways: first in the negative and then in the positive.… Continue Reading

For the past decade, I’ve been trying to raise awareness about the harms of the weak-on-crime policies being advocated by both parties. As crime continues to surge, even the most violent career criminals are released on little or no bail, a growing phenomenon that is responsible for most of the violent crimes committed in the country. The insipid mantra of the de-incarceration crowd is that we shouldn’t lock people up for low-level offenses.… Continue Reading

Could Mike Madigan’s luck have finally run out? That’s what many in Illinois are wondering as news of a federal investigation into a bribery scheme linked to the longtime Democrat and Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives have revealed. Calls for him to resign are starting to come from around Illinois. Plus, court records are showing that the scandal may have a link to fellow Democratic Governor J.B.

On this edition of Spotlight, the four C’s: Constitution, constitutional rights, churches, and coronavirus share center stage. Our podcast leads off with attorney and constitutional scholar David Shestokas. Monte Larrick and David discuss how Governor J.B. Pritzker has overstepped his authority by issuing coronavirus-related executive orders that masquerade as law. Additionally, they contemplate the Governor’s true motivation, especially as his actions directly target churches, freedom of religion, and the right to peaceably assemble.

Midway through the podcast, Monte and David are joined by Pastor Richard Giovannetti who shares his pastoral perspective on how Illinois’ excessive restrictions are negatively impacting ministry, worship, and fellowship.… Continue Reading

On Saturday, over a thousand Illinois citizens came together at the State Capitol in Springfield, Illinois, to declare their God-given rights in the face of oppression by Governor J.B. Pritzker and his administration. Since Pritzker declared every county in Illinois a disaster on March 9, 2020, he has issued executive orders that far exceed his authority and trample on the rights of Illinois citizens. Thousands of businesses and churches have been shuttered and thousands of livelihoods have been needlessly destroyed with no regard for constitutional constraints on government overreach.… Continue Reading

The news in Illinois these days is grim to say the least. A few days ago Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker announced a plan to ‘Restore’ Illinois that, if actually followed, will surely destroy whatever is left of both our God-given and constitutionally protected civil rights and our livelihoods. According to the governor, ‘normal’ will not return to Illinois until we have a vaccine or a drug that he deems “highly effective.”

If we take the him at his word, it’s quite possible that normal will never return to Illinois. … Continue Reading

Amid the shutdown of all “non-essential” businesses and activities as doctors scramble to deal with the coronavirus pandemic, the slaughter of unborn children at six Planned Parenthood clinics and other abortion mills in Illinois will go on. Apparently killing pre-born babies is considered an “essential” service in the Prairie State.

According to a press release published in the far-left Chicago Sun-Times and other local media, at least six Planned Parenthood centers will remain open across the state despite asking victims (euphemistically dubbed “patients”) to re-schedule all “non-essential appointments.”… Continue Reading

A good number of folks–especially on social media–are asking why I continue to refuse to vote for the incumbent Republican governor even in the wake of the Sam McCann betrayal.
The Chicago Tribune’s John Kass recently interviewed conservative Republican candidate for Illinois governor Jeanne Ives. Their conversation helps listeners get to know the West Point graduate Ives as well as where she stands on the issues that face Illinois taxpayers.

Bruce Rauner is a failed governor that needs to be defeated, Jeanne Ives told John Kass. They discussed the press conference Ives did with Brian McCann, the brother of Dennis McCann who was killed by a drunk driver who also happened to be an illegal alien (John Kass wrote about the incident here).… Continue Reading

It is not easy to decide which is worse: watching the Illinois Democratic Party candidates for governor debate, be interviewed individually, or slogging through their fantasy-filled TV ads or campaign websites.

Generally speaking, those vying for the top job in Illinois on the Democratic side agree that —

our state doesn’t currently raise enough in taxes,

K-16 schools and health care are underfunded,

recreational marijuana legalization won’t be a problem but a positive,

more money for early childhood education is needed,

free college tuition isn’t an insane notion,

state taxpayers should contribute more so state employees can continue to enjoy an above average retirement income and health care benefits,

the federal government should be ignored when it comes to immigration law,

and rich white men are bad.

The deceitful media has talked a lot about electoral “collusion” on the national level, but there is a clear case of collusion here in Illinois and we haven’t heard a peep about it.

During the Spring session of the Illinois General Assembly, Democratic lawmakers passed House Bill 40, on a party line vote (62-55 in the House on April 25th and 33 to 22 in the Senate on May 22nd).… Continue Reading

Politico recently reported that Governor Rauner’s “ongoing struggle with the politics of a controversial abortion bill hasn’t gone unnoticed by potential opponents.” A Democrat opponent in the 2018 gubernatorial race, J.B. Pritzker, has capitalized on “Rauner’s indecision with HB 40 by releasing a new statewide TV ad where the billionaire Democrat declares if he’s elected, HB 40 will be the first bill he signs.”

This comes on the heels of Pritzker, along with the bill’s sponsors, making a video about dropping off 4,000 postcards to Gov.… Continue Reading

Now that we have covered the declared candidates, it’s time to take a look at a few who haven’t yet thrown their hat into the ring. (You can read our previous posts here, here, here and here.)

The Wikipedia page on the “Illinois gubernatorial election, 2018” lists more than a dozen “potential” candidates, but for now we’re only going to focus on three:

Scott Drury (D-Highwood) State Representative from the 58th House District.

J. B. Pritzker is a billionaire venture capitalist, philanthropist and attorney from Chicago–and as of a few days ago, he is an announced candidate for governor of Illinois. He is heir to the Hyatt Hotel fortune and a guy who can compete with millionaire Chris Kennedy when it comes to campaign dollars. In fact, Pritzker has said that he will self-fund.

Pritzker, 52 years old, is estimated to be worth about $3.4 billion dollars.… Continue Reading
