The Illinois Republican State Central Committee (SCC) will be meeting tomorrow to consider how to fill the vacancy left by Chairman Don Tracy, who resigned in June. We are only aware of a couple of candidates who are up for consideration. Of course, we want to see someone who is fully committed to uphold the planks on the sanctity of human life, marriage, family, immigration security and religious liberty.… Continue Reading

The disgraced former Chairman of the Illinois Republican Party, Pat Brady, has gone further to the dark side. In various media reports it has been revealed that the double-dealing Brady has joined the board of Personal PAC, a pro-abortion, pro-transgender organization. Their agenda is fixated on the destruction of innocent pre-born life and the chemical castration of confused young people. They seem to be obsessed with the devil’s war on human beings.… Continue Reading

Written by David E. Smith

The hope in a “Red Wave” election didn’t come to fruition in November. The work to flip the U.S. House and U.S. Senate to Republican control produced mixed results.

The GOP barely gained control of the U.S. House, which means Nancy Pelosi will no longer be the Speaker of the U.S. House, and third in line to the presidency.

Of our state’s 17 Congressional seats, three downstate districts have Republican representation, as we lost one to redistricting and one to a Democrat candidate in the newly redrawn 13th district in central Illinois.… Continue Reading

Written by Fran Eaton

Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin’s campaign backers’ mantra is “Irvin’s the only one that can beat Pritzker in the General.”

But is Richard Irvin really the only Illinois Republican candidate that can beat the current governor in the upcoming 2022 General Election? And who is this Richard Irvin? Let’s take a closer look.

Interesting Facts About the REAL Richard Irvin

Irvin publicly applauded Gov. JB Pritzker for his tyrannical COVID-19 policies

Irvin has consistently supported Leftist activist groups such as Planned Parenthood, Gay Pride Parades, and Black Lives Matter – which works hand in hand with radical anarchists such as Antifa

Irvin has questionable financial dealings as Aurora mayor with Ken Griffin projects

Irvin has made vicious and untruthful campaign attacks on fellow Republicans

Irvin has very confusing family values

The Democratic Governors’ Association’s ads are already attacking Irvin’s criminal defense law practice by pointing to sleazy criminals they claim Irvin helped to escape stronger punishment — launching the effort to undermine Irvin’s claims he will fight crime and defend law enforcement.… Continue Reading

Hyperbole? You read it and decide. No one is arguing that ONE INDIVIDUAL precinct committeeman has more power than the president.
Years before the rise of the Tea Party movement some of the more common questions among conservatives at political events were, “What can be done?” “What’s the plan?” “What can I do?”

Before I answer those questions, take a few minutes and read Fay Voshell’s article over at American Thinker, “The Little Hand.” If Voshell’s powerful writing doesn’t move you to action, nothing will.

Here’s Voshell:

Sometimes in the life of our nation there comes a tipping point during which a horror of such great magnitude is revealed so clearly the response can only be universal revulsion and outrage.

David Smith welcomes State Representative Darren Bailey (R-Louivlle) to this edition of the IFA Spotlight podcast as they continue their conversation on political corruption in Illinois. In case you missed the memo: Illinois is Michael Madigan’s playground and he just lets us PAY in it. Standing in stark contrast to Speaker Madigan and his minions, Rep. Bailey is a first-term, stalwart Christian statesman who represents the 109th district who just announced that he plans to run for the 55th State Senate District in 2020 to replace the retiring Republican incumbent.… Continue Reading

Written by Illinois Family Action

In the past couple months, much has been written about the future of the Illinois Republican Party. Our situation couldn’t be worse. After a vicious March Primary and disastrous losses in the November election, the Illinois Republican Party (IL GOP) remains divided, with leadership refusing to take responsibility for the current situation.

The IL GOP needs new leadership to unite the Bruce Rauner and Jeanne Ives factions of the Party and to stand behind our State and National Platforms if it hopes to interest and draw voters.… Continue Reading

A week has passed since an ABC-7 interview revealed that, during the campaign, Governor Bruce Rauner actively sought someone to run in his stead. While Rauner’s lack of enthusiasm for re-election was not a surprise for grassroots Illinois Conservatives, what is shocking is the lack of any strategic action and transparency on the part of IL GOP Leadership.

While facing one of the most critical election contests in recent Illinois history, in which the financial well-being of millions of Illinois citizens hung in the balance, the entire leadership was absent and silent.… Continue Reading

A good number of folks–especially on social media–are asking why I continue to refuse to vote for the incumbent Republican governor even in the wake of the Sam McCann betrayal. It’s pretty straight forward. I believe that Bruce Rauner is more dangerous to the conservative cause than J.B. Pritzker could ever be.

Bruce Rauner, the leader of the Illinois Republican Party, has severely damaged the conservative cause and has battered the GOP brand in inconceivable ways over the past four years.… Continue Reading

When Governor Bruce Rauner vetoed the proposal, the Illinois Senate and House quickly overrode his veto. What does that mean for taxpayers?
On this week’s podcast: Ed Ronkowski once again joins Monte Larrick and Dave Smith to shed some light on pressing questions about marijuana and its legal status. Mr. Ronkowski dispels the common misunderstanding that marijuana crowds prisons, and the panel discusses the idea marijuana is “not that bad,” whether medicinal marijuana is an acceptable medical option, and how Illinois is currently facing the marijuana question.

There are reports that there is a majority on the Illinois Republican Party Platform Committee who aren’t exactly well-read. Get ready to cringe.

Written by David E. Smith

Some Illinois Republicans want to stay away from “controversial” issues. They think that removing the traditional marriage plank will somehow help liberal Republicans who are “hurt” by the platform in their swing districts. First, if they think that they are going to avoid controversy by removing this important plank, they are woefully wrong. Secondly, the Illinois GOP has its fair share of RINOs elected to office, who are the source of the problem at hand; but clearly demonstrating that liberal Republicans can win with the current state platform.… Continue Reading

A couple of Illinois political friends and I have been joking for many years about the old saying “it can’t get any worse.” For the Illinois Republican Party, that saying has never been true. Things continually get worse, and failed party leaders are to blame.

One of those failed party leaders has just been appointed to an important post by the 6th District’s State Central Committeeman Brian Colgan, who formerly worked for Senator Mark Kirk and before that Congresswoman Judy Biggert.… Continue Reading
