The rightness or wrongness of acts of civil disobedience is in the mind of the beholder.

For example, official lawlessness is openly practiced in “sanctuary” jurisdictions across the nation. The Department of Justice lists a total of 600 cities, counties and states where governing officials refuse to cooperate with federal officers enforcing immigration laws. In some cases, local officials actually interfere with the operations.

Democrats, who support open borders, say this is a matter of conscience, while Republicans say it invites further mass illegal immigration and lawlessness.… Continue Reading

Written by Robert Knight

If you still doubt whether elections have consequences, the U.S. Supreme Court ruling on a Tennessee statute last week should clarify things.

In a 6-3 ruling, the high court upheld a state law protecting minors from transgender experimentation that includes puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and, in some cases, surgical removal of healthy body parts. In other words, permanent child abuse.

All six of the Republican-appointed justices voted in United States v. Skrmetti to protect children and reject radical transgender ideology.… Continue Reading

Written by Tim Graham

Everyone knows that winning the assignment of officially responding to a State of the Union speech can be a curse, not a blessing. But it depends on which party is responding.

Last year, the media ripped apart freshman U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-AL) as a ditz. PBS analyst Jonathan Capehart made a “Legally Blonde” joke: “After watching Sen. Britt, I am just sitting here thinking what in the Elle Woods was that?”… Continue Reading
