For the first time in years, lawmakers have been able to view a budget ahead of having to vote. The problem is that it’s not the final version. There’s just a slight discrepancy of over $2 billion.

With only days remaining before the scheduled May 31st adjournment of the Illinois General Assembly, Senate Republicans are warning taxpayers to expect another rushed state budget filled with record spending, possible tax hikes, and little transparency.

Prohibits local law enforcement from enforcing federal immigration law,

Prohibits local law enforcement from assisting in federal immigration operations, and

Prohibits local law enforcement from transferring detainees into ICE custody without proper authorization.

Illinois Democrats Pass “Name Change” Bill to Protect Illegal Immigrants

Democrats in the Illinois General Assembly just passed HB 5164 in the Illinois Senate by a vote of 33 to 16. This bill, which passed in the Illinois House back on April 18, 2024 by a vote of 67-39, will make it almost impossible to find illegal immigrants with a criminal history and/or those who have committed crimes while on American soil, for the purpose of deportation.

In response, Illinois State Senator Neil Anderson (R-Aledo), posted the following information on his Facebook page:

Today, I joined my Senate Colleagues for a press conference following the passage of House Bill 5164 – a name change bill – that enables people, including illegal immigrants the ability to change their name merely based on their word without verification documents supporting their identity.

Illinois Family Action wants to provide an update regarding the upcoming leadership vote tomorrow of the Illinois Republican State Central Committee (SCC).

The Illinois GOP SCC is the state party’s governing board, with one member chosen from each congressional district. Those elections took place last month at county party conventions across the state. Tomorrow, the SCC will meet to elect a party chairman for a four-year term.

The reason this committee and the party chairman is important is that the quality of messaging, candidate recruitment, and support are dependent on the quality of the party leaders.… Continue Reading
