“Nothing shocks me anymore” is a phrase Christian conservatives find themselves saying with evermore frequency these days, often with a deep sigh. Yet you’ll probably be astounded to learn that Illinois Congressional Democrats voted against the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act (HR 7909) this week.

Joining most of their fellow Democrats in the U.S. House, they voted “no.” The title of a Fox News report highlights the disgrace: “158 Dems vote against bill to deport illegal immigrants who commit sex crimes.… Continue Reading

Illinois’ U.S. Senator Mark Kirk and Congressman Bob Dold – both from Chicago’s northern suburbs – were two Republicans that were among those that don’t vote along party lines, a Washington Post analysis found Thursday.

U.S. Representative Brad Schneider (D-Linconshire) is very upset about the U.S. Supreme Court’s Hobby Lobby decision and now is asking those who agree with him to sign a petition in protest.

Most online people realize a petition is simply a ploy to build a database for the November election, but Schneider’s outreach on the topic clearly affirms he is more concerned about protecting government-funded birth control than protecting his constituents’ religious freedoms.
