Colorado and Vermont are unusually beautiful states renowned for scenery, skiing and, in Vermont’s case, cheese and ice cream.

These Democratic-dominated enclaves also attract weird and destructive people who somehow find their way into power. California does not have a monopoly on this.

How else to explain their ongoing war on free speech, common sense and Christianity? Colorado, which was slapped down by the U.S. Supreme Court for persecuting Christian cake baker Jack Phillips, went after him again before the state Supreme Court finally ruled in his favor.… Continue Reading

The national parental rights group has again made the latest “hate map” of the Southern Poverty Law Center, the most prominent leftist smear machine outside of the legacy media itself.

Despite a scandal in 2019 that ousted its leadership, “SPLC annual revenue still reaches nine figures, and its assets are just shy of $700 million,” the Capital Research Center reports.

The Moms last year were designated partly because they supported reform-minded school board candidates who won elections.… Continue Reading

Just when you think it’s all over and that America has gone over the edge, some good things are happening.

Let’s start with the ascent of U.S. Representative Mike Johnson (R-LA) to Speaker of the U.S. House. This has stunned observers who thought that pro-life, pro-marriage, conservative Christians were forever barred from such offices thanks to the left’s takeover of virtually every major institution.

The Louisiana Republican is being assailed, of course.… Continue Reading

On Friday, Oct. 27, just hours after U.S. Representative Mike Johnson (D-LA) was elected speaker of the U.S. House by the unanimous vote of the Republican majority, CNN reporters Andrew Kaczynski and Allison Gordon posted the following: “Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has a history of harsh anti-gay language.”

They went on to cite several editorials Mr. Johnson wrote in the early 2000s, when he served as a constitutional attorney for the Alliance Defending Freedom, a coalition of lawyers that has more religious freedom victories before the U.S.… Continue Reading

The U.S. Supreme Court recently announced it will hear 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis, a free speech case that could have major implications for religious liberty. This is a case being handled by our friends at the Alliance Defending Freedom.

It involves Lorie Smith, a Christian web designer from the Denver-area who declines to create wedding websites for same-sex couples, because of her religious beliefs. The case is expected to be heard during the Court’s next term, which begins in October.… Continue Reading

This week, Illinois Family Spotlight focuses on current issues regarding religious freedom and the U.S. judicial system. To start the podcast, Monte Larrick interviews well-known Colorado baker and cake artist, Jack Phillips and general counsel for Alliance Defending Freedom, Kristen Waggoner. Phillips describes the persecution and targeting he has endured at the hands of the LGBT faction in his ongoing battle for religious freedom within the context of his business. In discussing the work of ADF, Waggoner speaks to the disturbing trend of “weaponization of our justice system to silence and to ruin people” who hold to different views regarding marriage and gender.… Continue Reading

We’ve all heard of Phillips and his travails. Leftist bullies have been tormenting him for years, beginning in 2012, when the Colorado Civil Rights Commission targeted him for refusing to make a custom-designed cake to celebrate a same-sex wedding.

After several setbacks in various tribunals, Phillips was finally vindicated in a 7-to-2 U.S.… Continue Reading

Former Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) “staffers have admitted that the hate accusations leveled by the SPLC are a ‘con,’ a deceptive scheme to raise money,” writes PJ Media Senior Editor Tyler O’Neil.
ACT for America, a nationwide grassroots group that educates the public about radical Islam, was founded in 2007 by my vigilant activist friend and Lebanese Christian immigrant journalist Brigitte Gabriel. I was honored to accept Gabriel’s invitation to speak at her organization’s annual banquet at Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida, on Nov. 7.

Gabriel has worked tirelessly to expose the Islamic imperialist agenda of the Muslim Brotherhood and Islamic state; barbaric practices of female genital mutilation and honor killings by adherents of sharia; and the whitewashing of violent jihad in American middle school textbooks.

Written by Corinne Weaver

The anti-conservative hate group, Southern Poverty Law Center, wants to censor people it disagrees with and it’s asking the top social media companies to help.

On Thursday, October 25, the liberal organization announced that it had formed a coalition with five other groups to encourage the prohibition of so-called “hate speech” online. SPLC partnered with four George Soros funded organizations: the Center for American Progress, Color of Change, Free Press and Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, as well as the National Hispanic Media Coalition.… Continue Reading

Like many leftist organizations, the Southern Poverty Law Center, or SPLC, started out with good intentions. It was founded in 1971 by Morris Dees and Joseph Levin and is headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama. The Southern Poverty Law Center rightly condemned, as did conservatives such as the great William F. Buckley and Ronald Reagan, the American Nazi Party and the Democrat-affiliated Ku Klux Klan.

A favorite SPLC tactic was suing Klan affiliated organizations for their crimes and then distributing the money to the victims. … Continue Reading

CNN has just published a map and listing of “all the active hate groups where you live.” I’ve got serious problems with lists like this, but apparently CNN doesn’t. It seems to me that if they believe in “hate group” lists, they really ought to include themselves on it.

A list like this one, published days after Charlottesville, is, in theory, meant to warn Americans against groups that might carry similar violence into other cities.… Continue Reading

U.S. Senators Chuck Schumer and Patrick Leahy claimed that newly confirmed U.S. Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch was not in the “legal mainstream.” They were referring to the “living Constitution” approach to constitutional interpretation.
Written by John Biver

Here are just a few of the many resources (articles and videos) available on the topic of church activities deemed “political,” as well as on the Johnson amendment. So few people know this due to the conservative failure in the information war.

Regardless of the Johnson amendment, however, two notes…

First, note this quote from Mat Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel has observed:

Pastors can preach on biblical, moral and social issues, such as natural marriage and abortion, can urge the congregation to register and vote, can overview the positions of the candidates, and may personally endorse candidates.

It is not surprising that those seeking to advance the LGBT agenda would work through left-leaning organizations, but one billionaire who has his eye on millennials has begun partnering with Hobby Lobby and its Museum of the Bible.

Paul Singer has been targeting Republican candidates, lawmakers, and the Republican Party platform. Now, he is reaching out to Christian students on college campuses.

Singer has an elaborate funding and organizational scheme that appears to support Christians and gain their goodwill while at the same time working against them to advance his same-sex marriage and LGBT agenda.… Continue Reading

Written by Kelsey Harkness

The story of the former Atlanta fire chief who was fired from his job after publishing a book that addressed marriage and sexuality from a biblical perspective took center stage at a hearing Tuesday on Capitol Hill, with witnesses from both sides of the aisle voicing disapproval of the city’s decision to terminate the decorated public servant.

“I wish we had a bill to protect him,” former U.S. Representative Barney Frank, a Democrat who represented Massachusetts’ 4th District, said of Chief Kelvin Cochran.… Continue Reading

Written by Robert Knight

Barack Obama has about nine months left as president, and his administration is working overtime to abuse current regulatory machinery and create new rules that will “transform” America beyond recognition without any say by Congress.

“Nearly 4,000 regulations are squirming their way through the federal bureaucracy in the last year of Barack Obama’s presidency,” Politico reported in January, “many costing industry more than $100 million — in a mad dash by the White House to push through government actions affecting everything from furnaces to gun sales to Guantánamo.”… Continue Reading
