SPOTLIGHT: Talking Education Issues with Dr. Duke Pesta

Public education issues, as well as an excellent alternative to public school, are the topics of discussion for this week’s Spotlight podcast. David Smith and Monte Larrick are joined by Dr. Duke Pesta, associate professor of English at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and academic director of Freedom Project Academy, a K-12, nationally accredited online school based on Judeo-Christian values.

If you thought Common Core had been sent to a permanent detention hall, think again. In many instances, those federal standards have merely been rebranded as state standards. As public schooling has become less about education and more about political and ideological indoctrination, unsurprisingly, students at every level of the learning spectrum have suffered. Even if our children or grandchildren don’t attend public schools, we cannot afford to be ignorant concerning these dangerous trends.

But the future of education in the U.S. is not all gloom and doom. As Dr. Pesta details, Freedom Project Academy offers a classical curriculum with live teachers who teach in real time to a cohort of online learners. Parents and students can opt for a complete schedule of courses or choose to supplement their homeschool curriculum in a specific area. If the task of homeschooling seems overwhelming or the cost of private school tuition is prohibitive, listen to learn more about Freedom Project Academy.

Summer-Time Challenge

As you may know, IFA has a summer-time matching challenge to raise $40,000. That’s right, a great group of supporters are colluding with us to provide an $20,000 matching challenge to help support IFA’s work to help elect pro-family candidates to the Illinois General Assembly.

Trust in the opposition media is at a historic low, and rightfully so. Leftists would love to drown out our voice, but we refuse to remain silent. Help us to reach farther & wider with our pro-family message and promote pro-family candidate for the Illinois House! To make a credit card donation over the phone, please call the IFA office at (708) 781-9371.  You can also send a gift to:
