Anti-Life Forces Are At It Again in Illinois

In this edition of our weekly podcast, Monte Larrick interviews Eric Scheidler, the Executive Director of the Pro-Life Action League. Eric provides assistance to local pro-life leaders throughout the country in organizing public pro-life witness, earning media coverage, working with police, and confronting abortion providers.

Monte and Eric discuss 2 pieces of legislation in Springfield (see below) as well as a few other pro-life issues, including the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS).

HB 3735 says counselors who are convicted of “intimidation” against pregnant mothers and staff members entering the abortion clinic, will be subject to longer prison stays and/or fines. HB 3735 adds acts of intimidation and violence in the vicinity of abortion clinics to the list of aggravating factors in the criminal code. Read more HERE.

HB 40 is sponsored by Rep. Sara Feigenholtz (D-Chicago) — Reinstates taxpayer-funded abortions for Medicaid recipients and adds abortion coverage in state employees’ insurance plans. This bill will make taxpayers to fund abortions through the full nine months of pregnancy for any reason. through Medicaid and government health insurance plans for state employees. Currently, the State Medicaid program already pays for abortions in cases of rape, incest, health and life of the mother.  Read more HERE.
