Candidates for School Board in District U-46

Written by John Biver

If you live in School District U-46, three seats on that school board are up for election on April 4, 2017. You need to be aware that when it comes to the important topic of privacy issues for students, the candidates that deserve your support and are endorsed by Illinois Family Action are challengers Cody Holt, and Enoch Essendrop.

While there are three incumbent candidates and only two challengers, electing Holt and Essendrop (and removing two of the incumbents) will put voices of sanity and common sense on the board.

Correction: IFA mistakenly sent out an email endrosing the wrong candidate who does in fact support  to allowing students into opposite sex locker rooms and restrooms, despite an outpouring from the community to protect all children.

Here is information on two upcoming candidate forums that are scheduled:

The School District U46 citizens’ advisory council will host a forum on March 9th, at 7 PM, at the main district building, 355 E. Chicago St. The Chicago Tribune reports that the forum will also be live-streamed via the U46 YouTube channel.

The League of Women Voters has also scheduled a candidate forum for March 16th — you can learn more at their website here.
